On 26 and 27 August a conference entitled "Liability on the Capital Market", organised by the Polish Institute of Directors, was held at the Warsaw Marriott Hotel. The aim of the conference was to discuss the various forms of liability of managers in the light of the new tasks and challenges they face, and the increasing complex conditions under which they exercise their mandate.
Clear definition of the line between the risk undertaken by a manager and civil and criminal liability will raise the level of comfort in business management. One factor facilitating this is familiarity with the more mysterious aspects of third-party insurance of directors and supervisory board members. Presentations was given by specialists cooperating with the Academy of the Polish Institute of Directors, from law firms and auditing and tax consultancy companies. Also among the guests were directors and supervisory board members in joint-stock companies and specialists from offices of boards of directors and legal departments.
Krawczyk & Partners was represented by Michał Krawczyk, expert on financial law and Managing Partner at Krawczyk & Partners. The subject of his presentation was liability of directors for losses suffered due to options transactions.
